h-productions proudly presents >eye sight< by cari lekebusch. this is the fifth release in the full color spectrum serie, that is aiming to result in 9 different colored vinyl 12inches. both tracks are maintaining a stripped down policy, solid sound pictures and simple arrangements - with no unnecessary elements, breaks or changes. thus giving the dj more freedom to play around during the blending. and the sound pictures have intentionally been tuned while having the various h-productions releases in mind, that came out around 1993-1997.

having earned himself the status as one of madrids hottest techno-exports, regal is back on figure with a special ep comprising both new works from him plus two creative re-interpretations by none other than radio slave. original and remix rub shoulders on the records a-side, both revolving around its enticing vocal hook. while regal employs a skipping beat and skittish percussion to conjure up an air of mystery, radioslave crawls down further the rabbits hole and uncovers the track’s slumbering lunatic qualities. on the flipside regal is back in full control, albeit this time operating in a framework a tad more housy than usual: snappy snares slice up the bubbling acid-line on the fast whirling while its eponymus vocal sample ironically asks ‘did you see it?’. equally aptly-titled slab barges right in, wielding hefty drums and a bassline that oozes groove out of every loop. as part of the digital release, the ep comes with another atmospheric radioslave-rework of from other sounds, leaning on the ambient and heavy on the subs

prolific dutch artist conforce is back on his most regular label, delsin, with a fresh new four track ep. it is the second part to his north to south series that started on the label earlier in the year. typically deep offerings that marry driving drums with wide open spaces full of smooth and serene atmospherics. where bubbling underwater baselines and coarse claps making the more techno leaning grooves. overall it s another majestic and elegant ep from one of the finest in the game.

kapote loves the funk. and he loves blaxploitation movies. the black underground cinema from the 1970ies. kapote samples dirty talk from these movies and puts it on his bass lines. melodic basslines with a heavy 1070 funk vibe. bass lines that can create a sexual tension. kapote adds a few warm, jazzy rhodes piano chords and a lot of reverbs and filtering. and the music rolls. often more like a jam then like a constructed piece of music. in the highest points this music is pure endorphin. it s 4 to the floor - but it has a soulful analogue sound. kapote says he was listening to records from old detroit label red planet and parisian downtempo pioneers motorbass and la funk mob while making this record. and yes, the vibe is there. like these guys kapote likes to build his musical trips around snippets from old funk vinyl. adding beats with vintage drum machines and creating an eclectic trip into a universe full of jazzy bits, noisy drums and dirty samples.

‘consistency’, the second lp from the berlin-based techno artist. the 11 track release follows 2014’s ‘en route’ and will be released on heiko laux’s label kanzleramt, a label with which kajioka has worked with closely for over a decade. consistency lp bears all the marks of a kajioka release: a collection of deep, driving, groove-laden and synth-focused cuts. heady grooves which leave little question why ray kajioka is held in such high regard among techno veterans, called upon regularly for remix honours by the the likes of heiko laux, joel mull, pan-pot, elbee bad, alexander kowalski and marc romboy, to name but a few. kajioka’s reputation for faultless production remains consistent on this, his sophomore lp. the full, extended physical release of consistency contains 3 vinyl disks: 2 x 12” lp disks plus a free, bonus 12”.

after a split release with chambray on ben sims’ hardgroove in 2016 greek-producer george tounisidis is set to drop a new 12” for symbolism in november entitled ‘solidarity’. with his first two cuts for the british dj’s imprint picking up support from the likes of dvs1, jackmaster and anthony parasole it’s unsurprising sims has tapped him for a full release on symbolism. since signing, tracks from ‘solidarity’ have also featured in both ben sims’ boiler room and run it red radio shows, resulting in a barrage of requests for release details which tees up the ep nicely. musically, ‘solidarity’ moves between scattered sequences and stabs (‘three clicks left’ & ‘solidarity’), muted hypnotics (‘nekyia’) and fractured acid (‘workers’) while all retaining the distinct sense of movement and dynamism that typifies symbolism releases.

after three years and ten eps, amsterdam s will & ink label offers up its first full length from label favorite yaleesa hall and is called woodall. it explores texture, space and sound design in fascinating ways. since 2014 yaleesa hall has released four eps on the label and has become known for breakbeat laced stripped-down techno. this debut album finds the producer indulging a less dance floor focussed version of his sound, and one that is better suited to the full length format. explaining that his tracks most often start as -sound structures and experiments- that then get reworked for the club, here they stay closer to their original forms. woodall is sound sculpture that is electronic and synthetic but also made of real world sounds that are all truly absorbing. comes in gatefold sleeve.

makam returns to dekmantel records with his first full-length album for the amsterdam based label. blankens ongoing search for fresh sounds, textures and rhythms has lead him to than sadet, a gorgeous piece of work that takes his sound into new directions. that sadet displays a refinement of makams sound. the music is highly tactile, with an emphasis on the surroundings of the environment in which it was created. blanken: than sadet is a secluded beach on an island in thailand. a mysterious atmosphere haunts it. its windy and the weather is always a bit worse compared to the rest of the isle. there are many cliffs and you cant swim because the waves are too high. four years ago i visited than sadet for the first time and ive been coming back ever since. at one point i decided to bring my studio equipment. for a week, i dedicated my days to making music. those sketches formed the basis of the album.

american experimental musican shane english continues in a long tradition of outsider electronics as hes been humbly prolific in his output though the years involving himself in numerous recording projects.collaborating with jonah lange in their group corporate park as well as an ongoing collab with beau wanzer (seeing a release last year under the cp/bw name), english now commits his second full length solo offering to vinyl in the form of the general dimensions lp. sparse machine driven electronics dominate the recording providing a back drop for the occasional pulsating rhythm, metallic clank or floating obscured vocal. while it is a dark and sparse affair there is a quiet downtrodden beauty throughout giving the recording a sense of uncertain serenity in an almost shoegazey way. highly recommended for those into early electronics.

please welcome thessaloniki’s jackmaster dimdj with a full ep on snuff trax! two years ago he remixed elec pt.1 (rip) on snuff trax 010. this time around he has come up with three wonderful tracks, accompanied by a banging remix by photonz & violet.

mono junk’s cult label dum records is back with a new five track various artists ep that again packs a vital punch. he appears himself along with some fellow legends of the scene. first up, morpholgy is a consistent performer who has continued to serve up quality electro since 2009 and here serves up a hot new piece. ‘vector plant’ is busy and industrial, slick and metallic as it unfolds and burrows deep into your veins. then comes the a2, irwin berg featuring freestyle man (aka finnish moodmusic boss sasse aka klas lindblad) with a track made in 1995 and never released before. this pair worked together and made a cult electro record for sähkö recordigs in 1998 and this one is just as impactful. it is frosty and frazzled, slow motion but high impact and full of distorted lines and heavy drums. next is mr velcro fastener who were the first kings of electro to come out of finland and between 1999 and 2006 were famous all over the world. their brand new cut ‘almost there’ is a deep one that is riddled with bleeping melodies and has smeared chords bringing a sci-fi feel. then it is mono junk’s turn to dive into the vaults with an unreleased track from 2005. ‘feeling or destroy’ is a physical number with crashing hits and snaking, gurgling bass that is dark and dystopian. last of all comes irwin berg with mono junk as new york city survivors. says the dum boss, “our unreleased track here was made after the new york city survivors – static light cd 2002” and it is a turbo charged track with screwed up grinding bass, icy hi hat rhythms and menace in its grooves.

with many new roads traveled over the last few years, the gaslamp killer is back with the full-length lp instrumentalepathy. glk will initiate his new imprint cuss records with instrumentalepathy. french surrealism artist albane simon designed the cover, supplying an array of psychedelic imagery that contains a brilliant sense of connection to glk’s music & the chaos he’s survived. instrumentalepathy features an impressive cast of artists tied closely to glk over his music career with brainfeeder, low end theory and beyond. guests include gonjasufi, miguel atwood ferguson, niki randa, kid moxie, mophono, amir yaghmai and the heliocentrics. it’s been over a decade since glk and gonjasufi have collaborated on new music, bringing the two natives of san diego back together for something truly special.

rothmans are back with their first release of 2016 and who better to bring in the new year than italian electropsycho s dj rocca & daniele baldelli. of course this record would have to pay homage to an italian great and who better than 1982 world cup hero marco tardelli. first up on the ep is a synth funk journey called kratos. rocca goes full on here and doesent hold back as he takes us on a journey of synth wizardry and classic italo beats. up next is an another original from rocca called fonk 400 another track that could have been plucked starigt out of the golden age of italo disco, again rocca is pulling no punches here. the ep is rounded off in spectacular fashion, just like marco tardellis famous world cup final celebration we have nothing short of genius with daniele badlellis electropsychomix of kratos. baldellie doing what he does best and taking us too another level yet again.

mr. g extends his ever growing discography with another full length album. “a good place..?” comes as a 2x12” package which includes 10 tracks which range from signature mr. g style drum track cuts with the usual vocal cuts to somewhat more “dubbed out” bits and funky disco tainted dance floor bits. “a good place..?” proves to be the perfect follow up to last year’s “night on the town?” with mr. g showcasing his versatile skill set whilst thoroughly molding the tracklist into the feel of an album.
